The Witching Hour Mural
I painted this mural as a personal project on the third floor of the Arbutus Building on campus at Capilano University in February 2023.
The design was inspired by historical accounts of "witches" often being single women with tradition medical knowledge, especially in areas of reproductive health. I like the idea of these women holding a lot of power in their hands because of this knowledge, and being masters of their own fate.
The flowers in the background are a variety historically used as a method of contraception.
